Fusing Tradition With Innovation to Advance Our Clean, Reliable and Affordable Energy Future

Storage
Advanced battery technologies, specifically designed for solar energy storage. These batteries offer higher energy density, longer lifespan, and improved charging and discharging capabilities, allowing for more efficient utilization of stored solar energy. Advancements in battery management systems (BMS) are anticipated to play a significant role in the future of solar panels, providing better control and optimization of energy storage. These systems will enable users to maximize the use of stored solar energy based on demand, grid conditions, or time-of-use pricing, ultimately leading to cost savings and increased energy efficiency.
Transmission
The future of energy transmission is expected to involve a significant expansion of the grid, utilizing advanced technologies like High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) to efficiently transport large quantities of clean energy from renewable sources across long distances, requiring substantial investment in new transmission lines to meet growing demand and facilitate the transition to a decarbonized grid by 2050.

Unlike traditional alternating current (AC) systems, HVDC minimizes energy losses during transmission over vast distances. Engineers are working on developing HVDC lines that can carry immense power loads across the US, facilitating the exchange of clean energy between states/regions.

Smart Grid
Blockchain technology is a distributed digital ledger system enabling secure, transparent, and de-centralized energy trading in the solar industry with virtual power plants (VPPs). It allows peer-to-peer energy trading between consumers, producers, and system operators with no intermediaries, facilitating more efficient and reliable energy transactions.

Blockchain technology can enhance the transparency and traceability of solar energy transactions, promote the use of renewable energy sources, and enable the integration of distributed energy resources. It can also facilitate microgrids, improve operations and maintenance, and reduce transaction costs.
